Cancer Risk marker from muscular inflammation;

'Snowmass colo - A novel myositis specific autoantibody shows considerable promise for predicting which patients with idiopathic inflammatory myositis are at increased cancer risk Dr L Wortmann with anti 155/140 k-Dann said at a symposium sponsored by the American College of Rheumatology'

The marker snowmass colo is more specific than any other cancer marker previous to it, for those that will contract cancer. This marker will help to highlight those that will benefit most by cancer screening tests. Within three years of the marker being identified those at high risk had contracted cancer. Those with the elevated marker and dermomyositis diagnosed contracted cancer within a year!

A positive test has 96% specificity, 50% sensitivity, a 42% negative predictive value and a 97% negative predictive value for cancer associated myositis.

The negative predictive value can be increased to 99% when combined with four other known markers.

If you have idiopathic myositis then consult your Chiropractor who will be able to provide treatment to discover if the muscles inflammation is truly idiopathic or there is an underlying reason for it. If no reason can be found and no response to treatment has been gained then you should be referred by your GP for the snowmass-colo combination blood screen for dermomyositis cancers.

The predictive value of non response to Chiropractic treatment after one month, being over 50, previous history of cancer and sudden weight loss has 100% sensitivity for screening for all types of cancers.
